AC Schnitzer goes to Geneva with new treats!

Ac Schnitzer, the Aachen based BMW tuner, announced some updates today on two of the cars they’re bringing to the Geneva Auto Salon: their ACS5, and the ACS 99D.

Based on the 5 series Saloon launching at the same event, the ACS5 concept vehicle delivers a blistering 540HP, up from the stock 407 horses. Torque is at an insane level of 750nM, which means that this not-all-that-svelte family car makes zero -100km arrives in a scant 4.5 seconds, and if you keep the hammer down this thing will cruise down the ‘Bahn at 325km/h (that’s a hair over 200MPH!!). Obviously all major systems have received copious attention… Brakes, aerodynamics, rims, tires and interior have all been worked over.

A little more sane, despite the crazy exterior treatment, is the company’s ACS 99d, boasting the lowest emissions of any standard BMW vehicle currently (99g/km CO2). With a diesel engine, a matched drivetrain, some serious weight reductions in both the car’s overal structure as well as unsprung weight, and improved aero, the Z4-based car manages to do 0-100 in 6.9 seconds, topping out at 235km/h. With 190HP under the hood and fuel consumption at a mere 3.8L (a single gallon) of diesel per 100km, this sounds like the way to go!
