AC Schnitzer releases MINI Cabrio product line

I’ve not really spent much time (ok, fair enough, ANY time) on BMW’s MINI, but something about the pics of the little tiger in ACS trim struck me as… HOT! Legendary Aachen-based BMW tuner AC Schnitzer just announced a comprehensive program for the MINI Cabrio in both standard and S versions.
Kicking off this package are some performance upgrades that push the Cooper S engine from 175 to 208-226HP, depending on whether you have the domestic or export version of the car. A proprietary ACS Limited Slip Differential takes care of the power transfer to the wheels, optimizing traction. Finally, a ‘special’ steel exhaust with chrome tip is on offer for the S and JCW versions of the car to round out the package and to ensure you know you’ve got something special under the hood.
On the suspension front two options will be available, a spring kit and a height adjustable package (I’m assuming these are coilovers, although the press release wasn’t clear). A new strut brace will also be offered to stiffen up the front end a bit more. Obviously these products will fit all MINI models, from MINI One to Cooper S.
No performance package would be complete without some visual cues to match what’s cooking, and ACS definitely delivers in that area. In fact, some of the side profile shots of the cabrio were exactly what prompted me to post; I simply love the look of the little raked ride! A new front spoiler as well as a modified rear skirt are being offered for the Cooper S, with a wheel choice of 17” Mi1 or 18” Mi2 rims. For those who care about this sort of thing, you can spruce up your car with AC Schnitzer decal sets as well.
To top it all off, an entire line of accessories is offered as well, including gear knobs, handbrake handle, aluminum pedal sets, and velour floor mats.
