BMW World Touring Car Championship drivers Jorg Muller and Andy Priaulx are to join the Schubert Motorsport team for this summer’s Nurburgring 24 Hours. The pair will join forces with Sport Auto journalists Marcus Schurig and Jochen Ubler for the event in what will be the debut in the round the clock race for the new BMW M3 GT4 – which will compete in the SP10 class. Muller has already had chance to race the car after joining Ubler for the 56th ADAC Westfalenfahrt at the Nordschleife, with the quartet now aiming to take class honours in the 24 hour event.
“Although we will not be represented by a works team at this year’s 24-hour race, our Customer Racing programme ensures that our fans will still see plenty of BMW racing cars and BMW works drivers,” BMW motorsport chief Mario Theissen said. “We will be particularly interested in how the new BMW M3 GT4 performs, which is fielded by Schubert Motorsport in cooperation with ‘sport auto’. Jörg Müller and Andy Priaulx are two former overall winners in the Eifel. Spectators can certainly look forward to an exciting weekend.”
Augusto Farfus is also set to take part in the event.
